Congressional Internship Program
In Fall 2011, the Panetta Institute will offer its thirteenth annual Congressional Internship Program for students selected from the 23 campuses of the California State University, Dominican University, and Santa Clara University. We have been asked to choose one outstanding undergraduate (junior or senior) student leader to participate in an extraordinary learning experience. The eleven-week program runs from mid-August to mid-November 2011, beginning with a two-week training session at the Panetta Institute followed by eleven weeks in Washington, D.C.
The Institute covers all program costs including academic fees and tuition, air and ground transportation, food and housing, academic materials, and provides a stipend to help cover other expenses. Students will earn up to twenty academic semester units upon successful completion of the internship and the academic course work that is assigned along with it.
Please see the attachment for specific criteria, application, and program overview. For those of you who may have reviewed application materials from past years, the required criteria has changed this year, so please read all materials carefully.
Completed application materials are due by 12:00 noon on Monday, February 28, 2011, and must be turned in at the Dean of Students Office, Student Affairs Administration Building, attention: Terri Cepeda. Please call (831) 582-3510 with any questions.
